Mrs. Cowan’s sixth and seventh grade reading classes read the book Gone With the Wand and created life-size fairy godmothers and godfathers. Students identified characteristics that they found important and made their fairies come to life in their original narratives and social media pages.

WATONGA — Oklahoma City’s Bank7 has completed the acquisition of Watonga-based Cornerstone Bank, the company announced last week, taking over all three Cornerstone locations in Watonga, Geary and Mustang. The deal was first announced in October and its completion was announced on Dec. 10.

WATONGA — With warm temperatures, high winds and dry weather persisting through the Christmas holiday, the Blaine County commissioners voted on Monday to enact a countywide outdoor burn ban for one week until Monday, Dec. 27.
