Oklahoma Sees 54,172 Total Covid-19 Cases Statewide

The Oklahoma State Department of Health showed 19 active cases of the Covid-19 virus Aug. 25 in Blaine County when it released figures for that day. The cases include six in the Canton area, one in the Geary area and 11 in the Watonga area; and two in Hitchcock.

Postings on social media from Aug. 24 indicated a man wandered into a local convenience store late in the evening asking for help. He told other customers he had been out walking when he was set upon by four other men who attacked him with a knife or knives.

Geary Schools to Utilize Virtual Day

Geary Public Schools will hold their first virtual day on Friday, Aug. 28. Students will not report to the brick and mortar buildings that day, but instead remain home and ‘attend’ school on their computers. IPads and Chromebooks have been assigned to the students to use for virtual instruction.
