State Moves to Seize Cash From Local Pot Bust

According to a legal notice in this week’s Watonga Republican, the State of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control are seeking to seize $9,320 taken as evidence during a raid on a pot grow known as CycoFlower in the former HollyTex factory.

Elementary Honor Band at Alva

On February 29, ten beginner band students went to Alva to play in the Elementary Honor Band. It was a long day for everyone involved, but we all had a great time, and the kids are looking forward to more honor bands in the future. Trace Kennedy, Elizabeth Langford, Hope Rickey made up the Green Band Charlie Morris, Izabella Black performed as the Orange Band Baylin Wigington, Dalton Cowan were the Red Band Arely Rodriguez, Xzayvian Castanon, Ayden Bryant performed as the Blue Band Videos of their performances will be posted soon.

Advocacy Works as Bills Move Forward

OKLAHOMA CITY – The second deadline for the Oklahoma Legislature was reached on Thursday, March 14 and many bills have fallen by the wayside. For the bills being tracked by the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy (OICA), our total has dwindled from 650 at the beginning of the session to a total of 216 remaining “alive” in the process.

City Council Seats Ragsdale for Ward 2

At left — Kayla Ragsdalle (L) is sworn in by City Attorney Jared Harrison Tuesday night at the Watonga City Council meeting. Ragsdale will serve as the council member for Ward 2. The seat had long been empty. She immediately took her seat and began dealing with the business of the city.
