Calumet FFA had a great showing at the state contests in Stillwater. Placings include state individual champion in milk quality and products Kieran Lunsford and third place team overall. Team members include Lunsford, Rance Nitzel, Savanna Lunsford, Bella Dean and Noraya O'Dell.

Billy Graham Team Responds to Enid Tornado

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BGRRT) is deploying alongside Samaritan’s Purse to Enid, Oklahoma, after a powerful tornado struck the city on April 23, damaging dozens of homes and leaving multiple people injured.

Watonga held a citywide cleanup the week of April 13-17. Bulk items were picked up by Veteran’s Waste Services streetside and a volunteer committee cleaned alleys of more bulk items.

Do You Remember Hoot’s Pool Hall ?

A former Watonga resident, Burton Branch, has sent several of his drawings depicting his growing up years in Watonga. From time to time, we plan to feature them in the paper. This is the first of them, chosen at random. The Republican was unable to determine where the pool hall was located.

Doris Cupp Memorial Scholarship Opens

Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Doris Lewis Cupp Family Memorial Scholarship, which awards a $3,000 freshman year scholarship to a graduating senior at Watonga High School. The on-line application portal is open now until May 1 at: sites.google.
