At its regular meeting in August, the Geary City Council accepted the donation of four police vehicles from Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office.Included in the donation were a 2014 Ford SUV, and three Dodge Chargers: 2008, 2010 and 2011.

At a special meeting Monday, the Watonga School District approved a contract with Hellas Construction to install synthetic turf on one of the school’s baseball fields.The work is scheduled to begin Sept. 15, and the company has 120 days to complete the project.

Drummond Deploys State Agents to Okemah

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Gentner Drummond answered a request for assistance Monday from the City of Okemah. In an unprecedented move, agents from his office are now standing in for Okemah’s police department after five officers, including the police chief, were terminated or resigned.

Get Ready for Tri County Fair

The Tri-County Fair in Geary is set for Sept. 56.The parade theme is Rockin 50s and will be held at 5 p.m. September 6 on Main Street. As is customary, there will be prizes for first through third place. To enter, stop by 107 W. Main Street the morning of the parade (before noon) and sign up.
