Retired Educators to Hold Luncheon

The Blaine County Retired educators plan to hold a meeting and luncheon at 11:30 a.. Monday, Feb. 13 at Noble House. THe guest speaker will be OREA executive director Sabra Tucker, who will speak on the ongoing Legislative session.

As of press time Wednesday, the following persons had filed for municipal elections in Blaine County: Deana Black has filed for the board of trustees for Hydro. Willis Bedard has filed for city council Ward 4 Watonga.

Masons Support Senior Center

The Watonga Masons recently presented a check for $4,722 to the Senior Citizens Center. The money was raised through the Masons’ famous pancake breakfasts held once a month the center.

Assessor Revisits Grow, Dispensary Taxes

The Blaine County tax assessor’s office is in the process of recoding and reassessing the marijuana grows, processors and vendors of medical pot in the county. Assessor Misty Kitson said Monday during the county commission meeting her office was compiling a book of locations in the county so the records are more easily accessible.

Even though patrons of the Geary School District have made it clear they were unwilling to issue bonds to build a new K-12 campus, there are going to be a lot of changes in the existing buildings. The board, meeting Monday night in regular session, discussed revamps, remodels and renovations of all sorts.
