High school graduations are just around the corner. Here is a list of events from area schools as available.Canton will hold baccalaureate practice from 8:30-9:30 a.m. May 2. Senior group pictures are later that day.Baccalaureate is from 2-4 p.m. May 4.

Saturday is Missing Persons Day

EDMOND— – The Missing in Oklahoma (MiOK) day will be held on Saturday, April 26 at the University of Central Oklahoma Forensic Science Institute.Families of missing persons are encouraged to attend. Families may arrive between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Doris Lewis Cupp Family Memorial Scholarship.All graduating seniors from Watonga High School are eligible to apply. The top selected recipient will receive a $3,000 scholarship award to support first year college expenses.

Ferguson Features

We recently visited Marfa, Texas, a town similar in size to Watonga, where the movie “ Giant” was filmed. Giant was a blockbuster movie made in 1956 from one of Edna Ferber’s books. But 25 years earlier, another of Ferber’s books, Cimarron, was made into a movie.
