We are experiencing the biggest snowfall in several years, and the coldest spell in a long time. I hope that all of you are staying indoors and staying warm. I have faucets dripping and cabinet doors open to keep pipes warm and defrosted. We must be very grateful to the road crews, emergency workers, nurses and others who brave the weather to keep our community operating. I shoveled some snow around my back door so my dog could go outside, and it was hard work! Some of the snow was at least 1012 inches deep and I am too old to do much of that!

Our home deliveries were made last week by Sharon Barnes (2 days), Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. We thank them for their loyal service.
We received a memorial donation for Gene Matli from Eloise Espy, and Dorothy Jameson renewed her membership. These kind people keep our center operating.
It appears that our next event is Groundhog Day on February 2, Monday. Townsfolk in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania gather in Gobbler’s Knob to watch as an unsuspecting groundhog is pulled from his burrow to predict the weather for the rest of the winter. Now whether you follow the groundhog lore or not, winter isn’t going to end anytime soon. Spring will officially arrive on March 20 at 10:46 a.m. However, the warm spring-like weather may not come until later.
Until then, stay warm and come visit us at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center any day.
