Avery Fisher Pages for Dobrinski

OKLAHOMA CITY – Avery Fisher, a senior at Okeene High School, paged in the office of Rep. Mike Dobrinski, ROkeene, from March 2326.

Avery is the daughter of Clayton and Tara Fisher.

'My family and I are blessed to have Avery and her family as our neighbors in Okeene,' Dobrinski said. 'It's been an honor to watch her grow up and to help her on occasion by giving feedback into her agriculture policy speeches. Avery already had a very good grasp of the role of a representative, but it was great to have her serve in my Capitol office as a page and to give her a more detailed look into the function and process of the state Legislature.'

While they are at the Capitol, House pages serve in the representative's office and run messages to lawmakers while they are on the House floor. They sit in on floor sessions and attend other meetings, and they participate in their own mock legislative session, writing, presenting and voting on legislation by themselves and their peers.

Avery's academic achievements include holding five presidencies including FFA, 4-H, National Honor Society, and Student Council organizations. In addition, she serves on the Oklahoma State 4-H Council and as an Oklahoma State 4-H and State Healthy Living ambassador. Through these roles, she has led over 100 workshops focused on leadership, agriculture and personal development. Avery also is a 2025 National Make with Wool Embroidery winner.

After graduation, Avery plans to attend Oklahoma State University to study agricultural education. She hopes to eventually teach that subject to the next generation of agriculturalists in rural Oklahoma schools.

Avery said she wanted to serve as a page after visiting the Capitol multiple times through 4-H and FFA days.

'Each visit has been truly inspiring,' she said on her page application. 'Seeing the inner workings of our state government firsthand helped me better understand how laws are created and how leaders work together to serve the people of Oklahoma.'

She said she was excited by the fast-paced environment at the Capitol and the responsibility that comes along with helping in the representative's office. She said she feels it is important for state representatives to welcome the voice of young people who can bring fresh and valuable ideas to the table.

'Representative Mike Dobrinski has been a great example of this in my life, as he has always encouraged me to stop by his office at the Capitol and welcomes meaningful conversations,' Avery said. 'This shows how an effective state representative builds trust, stays approachable and serves the community with respect and integrity.'

Mike Dobrinski serves District 59 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. His district includes Dewey and parts of Blaine, Garfield, Kingfisher and Woodward counties.
