Burns Named Winner of OHCE Scholarship

GEARY — Blaine County Oklahoma Home and Community Education (OHCE) awarded a scholarship during Geary High School’s Senior Assembly on May 13 at the Field House Gym.

Gunnar Burns, a senior at Geary High School, was awarded the 2026 OHCE College Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. Burns was recognized in person during the event and the scholarship was presented by Blaine County OSU Extension FCS Educator Ally Fuqua.

The Blaine County OHCE Scholarships are designed to support local students pursuing higher education and career training. Scholarships are available annually to Blaine County high school seniors planning to attend college or CareerTech programs, as well as students continuing their education whose home address is in Blaine County or who graduated from a Blaine County high school.

Earlier this spring, Blaine County OHCE encouraged students and families to apply through local high school counselors, the Blaine County Extension Office, and OHCE clubs including Pleasant Valley OHCE and Domestic Engineers OHCE of Watonga.

Blaine County OHCE congratulates Gunnar and wishes him continued success as he pursues his educational and career goals.
