SENIOR CENTER NEWS

We hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. The weather cooperated and we had sunny, warm days. The I00F Cemetery looked beautiful this year, with green grass, colorful flowers and Old Glory flying. I hope you got the opportunity to be part of it. The center was closed Monday but was up and running the rest of the week. Come in any day and eat with us. Our menu is: Thursday, May 28 Chicken and Noodles Friday Roast Beef or Roast Pork (Birthday Dinner) Monday Chicken Strips Tuesday Steak Fingers Wednesday Barbecue Ribs Thursday, June 4 Chicken Fried Steak Friday Indian Tacos Call the center at 580623-4511 any morning before 10 for home delivery. Our meals were delivered last week by Teresa Bryan, Sharon Barnes (two days), Brenda Stein and Vernon Brickman. Thanks to these loyal delivery super-stars!

We had Louise Cooper and Teri Crawford quilting this week.

The Cheyenne Quilt Guild has the Enterprise Club quilt hanging on the wall, and it is available for sale on a silent auction. Make a bid at the center and it could be yours. It is signed by many local ladies of the 1920s and 1930s.

Coming up this weekend on May 31, June 1-2 is the play “Dearly Departed” at our Liberty Theatre. This is the last play our own Patt Ward Curtin says she will direct, and I’m sure it will be great. The box office opens Friday, May 29 for tickets, so be sure to get yours and attend another wonderful production.

It amazes me that we have so many talented actors and actresses in our community and thank them for providing us with such good entertainment.

On June 1, the Watonga Public Library will kick off its summer library programs with an event from noon until 3 p.m. at the library and adjoining park.

This year’s theme is “Uncover a Story” and kids will learn about dinosaurs, magic and reading.

The library will have programs each day of the week through June, and you can pick up a calendar there. Sounds like a lot of fun!

We exercise Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the center at 9 a.m. Come join us for this free program. We will get you moving and feeling great!

A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, and birds are singing, and the lawnmower is broken!
