Here we are at almost the end of July! Where has the summer gone? Have you had your vacation yet? Have you gotten done all of those little jobs you put off until summer? Well, we better get things done soon. Also, the weather report for the next week or so is for over 100-degree temperatures. One thing you can do to beat the heat is to come eat lunch at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center Monday through Friday! No need to heat up your kitchen or have to clean up dirty dishes. We eat each day, except Wednesday, from 11 am to 12:30 pm. On Wednesdays, when Kiwanis meets, we eat from 11 am to 12 noon. Come join us for the following:
Thursday, July 23 Steak Fingers Friday, July 24 Chicken Fried Steak Monday, July 27 Chicken Strips Tuesday, July 28 Barbeque Sausage Wednesday, July 29 Chicken Strips (Kiwanis Meets) Thursday, July 30 Baked Potatoes Friday, July 31 Roast Pork (Birthday Lunch)
If you are a paid member of the Center, and you have a birthday in July, join us on Friday, July 31, for a FREE lunch.
Our meals were delivered last week by Teresa Bryan, Brenda Stein (2 days), Sharon Barnes and Vernon Brickman. Call the Center any morning before 10 am, and one of these dedicated people will be happy to deliver a meal (or two) to you.
Remember, our meals are now $8.
Quilters last week were Louise Cooper, Terri Crawford and Estalene Teply. They are doing wonderful hand-quilting and if you are interested, come join them on Thursdays.
We received memorials last week for Jim Thompson from: Jim Strack, Vernon and Susan Brickman, Dorene and Don Robison, and Marilyn Landreth and Arlo Landreth. Marilyn Landreth and Arlo Landreth also gave a memorial for Danna Taylor. Our thanks to them.
On Saturday, July 25, we will host our Fun and Games Night from 6 pm to 9 pm. Come join the Saturday Night Gang for snacks, cards, dominoes, pool and live music. It is guaranteed to be fun!
Stay cool this next week and join us for lunch any day!
