In a special meeting on August 6, the Watonga School Board established that seat #3 was vacant. It had previously been filled by Courtney Nagel.
The verification of the vacancy allowed the board to entertain applications and fill the post, which they did at the regular meeting August 9.
The board selected Quinton McGuire, a WHS graduate. His social media profile shows he works for Devon Energy and lives in Watonga.
Superintendent Kyle Hilterbran wrote in a social media post he was appreciative of McGuire’s willingness to serve the students, staff and community and was looking forward to working with him on the board.
