The Caddo County Retired Educators will hold its first meeting of the school year at 10:30 a.m. September 14 at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center Building 400 in Fort Cobb. The OREA leadership team will be there to update the group about the COLA that some retired educators are getting, along with the proposed increase in the health insurance rate, which OREA is monitoring. There will also be information about the upcoming state conference to be held in October in Tulsa. If you are a newly retired educator, or one who has been retired for several years, you are welcome to attend. This group consists of not just instructors, but anyone who has worked in the education field such as teacher aides, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, janitors, principals, secretaries and superintendents. Each meeting is at 10:30 a.m. on the second Monday of each month at CKCTC. It is a great time to get together and meet other retired educators from the area.
