The Base family of Geary Recognized as Blaine County Farm Bureau Farm and Ranch Family of the Year

The Base family of Geary has been named the 2026 Blaine County Farm Bureau Farm and Ranch Family of the Year.

The award recognizes outstanding farm and ranch families who are committed to growing and raising food for their fellow Oklahomans while being engaged in their communities.

Aaron, along with his wife Jennifer and daughters Daphne and Ilsa, are a third generation farm family in the Geary area. Aaron has been involved in agriculture his entire life and became a full-time farmer 30 years ago. Today, the family’s operation focuses on wheat production and a commercial cow-calf herd.

When asked what they are most proud of, the Base family said they are grateful to have kept the farm going while raising their two children there and continuing a family legacy that spans generations.

Aaron has served on the North Canadian Soil Conservation District Board for 25 years, most of those years serving as Board President. He was also elected to the Oklahoma Crop Improvement Association Board in 2026 and has been producing and selling seed wheat to producers in the region for more than 15 years.

As the Blaine County Farm Bureau Farm and Ranch Family of the year, the Base family was recognized by fellow Farm Bureau members at the Annual Meeting in September with a plaque and farm sign. The Base family was also considered to represent their Farm Bureau district as OKFB’s district 3 Farm and Ranch Family recognition recipient.
