Ferguson Features

By Louise Griffin President, Friends of Ferguson Home

Hope everyone had a blessed Easter. Our Easter Egg hunt was well attended. Thanks goes to the Easter Bunny and all our volunteers. The volunteers help make our events a success.

Work is finished on the restroom floor thanks to Clay. He and a young man that he brought with him started scrapping the front of the home preparing to paint last weekend.

We are still looking for a site director. It's 20 hours a week, Wed./ Sat. 10 am. to 3:00 pm.

Have you ever considered volunteering? Volunteers have the opportunity to learn new skill, meet new people and participate in awesome adventures. In return, you can make valuable contributions toward the museum mission to preserve T. B. and Elva Ferguson Home as a Historic Land Mark and interpret the early day lifestyles of a Politician, newspaper owner and pioneer from the establishment of the Cheyenne and Arapaho land opening in 1892 up to 1947, while enhancing visitor services.

Most anyone can volunteer, individuals, groups, even participants under 18 may volunteer. You would receive on site training. We are flexible to accommodate your interest and schedule.

Lots of positions to choose: a museum attendant would orient visitors to the museum, develop programs or talk to public. Like to read? Pick a book from our library, read it and write a book review for the museum Facebook page, website or the local newspaper.

Assist at special events by setting up, cleaning up or working alongside one of other volunteers.

Call 580-623-5069 to get started. You have to leave name and call back number as we don't have caller ID.

Want to remind everyone about the Chicken Noodle Dinner Fund-raiser Friday, April 23, 5:00 - 7:00 pm Pick-up or Delivery.
