The City of Watonga has a new mayor.
Bill Seitter was selected as mayor during a city council meeting Tuesday night at Watonga City Hall. Travis Bradt will serve as vice mayor.
Departing Mayor Gary Olsen was recognized during the meeting for his years of service to the community.
“Historic event this evening for the city of Watonga!” Teresa Ann France wrote on Facebook Tuesday. “I want to say THANK YOU to Mayor Olsen and to each person who has served on our city council over the past few years! What a selfless act to serve your community; to serve to BETTER your community! Each person tonight plays a vital role in making that happen.”
“It has been a privilege to serve the City of Watonga and its citizens all these years,” Olsen said. “Thank you very much.”
“Please reach out to those who are/have been involved in our community!” France encouraged on Facebook. “They deserve to know how impactful their role is and appreciated by our citizens! Sometimes the only words these folks of service need to hear is THANK YOU, your sacrifice and decisions are important!”
