Pre-enrollment for Watonga pre-K and kindergarten students is coming up later this month in the Watonga Elementary gymnasium.
The pre-enrollment sessions will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, April 27 through 29, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. It is for students who are, or will be, 4 years old before Sept. 1, 2021 who want to enter pre-K; or for students who are, or will be, turning 5 before Sept. 1 and have never been to pre-K or kindergarten.
The kindergarten enrollment is for students new to the district and not current students, school officials said.
“At Watonga Public Schools, we pride ourselves on a child-centered program that meets the needs of the whole child,” Watonga Schools said in a pre-enrollment information packet. “Students participate in a bal anced program that supports individual growth in cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains. Our goal is to start young learners on the road to a lifetime of success through a love of learning.”
To register, parents must bring a copy of their child’s birth certificate and Social Security card; their own ID; proof of residency, like a utility or water bill, to prove they live in the district; and a shot record with up-to-date immunizations.
Registered children must also be potty trained.
