SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Hi everyone! I hope everything is going good for you. John and I are both doing well. He was excited that squirrel hunting season opened last Saturday. He likes to hunt them. We both like to eat them.

We had a good bunch last Friday to eat, and several came in early to play cards. They start playing around ten o’clock. Then after lunch they play until about three. Come on in for some fun.

The quilters have finished the quilt that was in the frame. I do not know whose quilt will go in the frames next. I know Gene Matli, Estalene Teply, and Jennie Castleberry finished this one off.

I was told there was a good turnout for biscuits and gravy on Thursday. Even had some orders to go. That’s great!

We received a donation from Yvonne Christensen in memory of Dorothy Loosen, Norma Shipman, and Markle Lane. We appreciate these donations very much. And we always notify the families of the donation.

Loretta Grove brought in a bunch of Best Choice labels. We’ll soon have enough to send in for reimbursement, according to Estalene.

We are thankful for our meals on wheels deliverers. They do such a great job. Last week it was D’Von Poulson, Mary Brown, and Karen Dugger, Brenda and Curt Stein (2 days), and Janice Hood. If you need a meal delivered call us before 10 a.m. at 623-4511.

Saturday night will be our music and games night. We’re there from 6 – 9 p.m. Bring a snack and come ready for some fun.

Here is a list of the meals we will be serving for the next few days. Call us if you want to pick one up or come in a little before noon to eat with us.

Thursday – Liver and Onions

Friday – Fried Chicken

Monday – BBQ Sausage

Tuesday – Chicken Fried Steak

Wednesday – KIWANIS

Thursday (May 27) – Breaded Chicken Breast

Friday (May 28) – Roast Beef (It’s our birthday dinner and we’ll play bingo after lunch)

Last Friday we had ladies from Angel Home Health in to check blood pressures and blood sugars. They checked quite a few people. They’ll be back on June 11th. I’ll remind you later.

Well, that’s about it for me. I hope we all continue to stay well. Take care and stay safe. ‘Til next week…
