Moore’s Farm Service is hosting a grand opening and customer appreciation celebration on Saturday, June 19, for its new hardware store. Tony Moore said his family decided to open a hardware store when Calumet’s other store closed its doors weeks ago. “We thought it would be a shame for the town to be without one,” Moore said. So the family started transferring the store’s entire inventory from its old location into a warehouse behind the Moore’s convenience store. Saturday’s celebration will include free burgers or pizza for attendees, as well as 10% off all hardware items and tires all day. The lunch will last from 11 a.m. till around 1:30 p.m., Moore said. Moore’s Farm Service is located at 602 W Highway 270 in Calumet.
