KINGFISHER — Camp 4-H WILD! Was held this June 23 and 24th at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds. The Camp was a tri-county day camp made up of Blaine, Garfield and Kingfisher Counties.
While at camp on the first day, the campers participated in workshops taught by 4-H Teen Leaders from each of the counties. They made things such as seed art, fishing knots, made felt bags, designed and painted plates, made butter, pinecone bird feeders, and learned to make beef jerky, In additions they made paracord bracelets, the 4-Hers made bracelets, one they got to keep and the other ones will be sent to soldiers.
The second day, the 4-H Members learned about animal skins and skulls from an OSU Dr. Kevin Allen, OSU Professor in the Natural Resources Department, made animal tracks and learned about Healthy Living from an Intern from the State 4-H Office. Lily Sestak, the state 4-H Vice-President also came and taught team building activities. The 4-H members also enjoyed games, line dancing, making new friends from other counties.
Attending from Blaine County were: Lincoln Williams, Luke Poe, Brieley Scott, Hayden Estrada, Macie Clark, Jayce Shultz, Jack Luckie, Landon Poe, Logan Chance and Maggie Clark. Blaine County Teen Leaders were: Reiley Luckie, Hayley Spaeth and Caton Cope.
