Blaine County 4-H Achievement Banquet

BLAINE COUNTY - The Blaine County 4-H Achievement Banquet was held on Sunday, August 15th afternoon at the Blaine County Fairgrounds. 4-H Members who summitted 4-H Record Books were awarded for their efforts this year. The highlight of the afternoon was when Hayley Spaeth, 4-H member from Okeene was awarded County 4-H Hall of Fame. Her picture will hang in the courthouse for one year. Hayley is the daughter of Brian and Mandy Spaeth.

County 4-H Officers were installed. Officers are: President, Avery Fisher; Vice-President-Hayley Spaeth, Secretary, Lauren Luckie; Treasurer, Maggie Clark; Reporter-Kinze Cowan; Parliamentarian, Molllie Spaeth, and Recreation Leaders-Destry Swaim, Grant Robison, and Jack Luckie.

Guest Speaker for the event was Bailey Hatfield, State 4- H Ambassador from Custer County. She spoke on getting involved in state leadership roles and the difference being an involved 4-H member can make.

Junior Key awards ( Outstanding Junior 4-H Members) went to Logan Chance and Grant Robison of Okeene.

Two outstanding 4-H members from each club were selected: Award winners from Canton were: Brieley Scott and Maggie Clark, Okeene: Logan Chance and Jack Luckie, and Watonga: Brant Cowan and Keela Cowan.

Medal winner and County Special award winners were:

Canton Club: Macie Clark-Swine and Goats and the County Goat award; Maggie Clark-Photography and Music and the County Swine Award; Brieley Scott- Wildlife and Fisheries, vet Science and the County Outdoor Life award.

Okeene Club: Lauren Luckie-Child Care and Achievement and County Citizenship Award; Haden Noll, Goats and the County Childcare award; Grant Robinson-Cooking and Vet Science and the County Food-Nutrition Award; Avery Fisher, Beef and Food Science,the County Clothing Award, and the High Plains North Star Award; Hayley Spaeth- Plant Science and Achievement, and Washington D.C. Focus Trip Recipient; Dash Noll, goats and County Child Care Award; Luke Poll- Sheep and Swine and the county Swine Award; Landon Poe-Plant Science, Swine and the County Sheep Award; Jayce Shultz- Dogs and Citizenship and the County Citizenship Award; Baylea Robison-Beef and Food -Nutrition, and the Wisdom Grain Award; Mollie Spaeth, Music and Goats and the County Woodworking Award; Jack Luckie-Agriculture and Safety and the county Agriculture Award; Destry Swaim-Engines Tractors & Field Equipment, Goats and the County Ag Award and Alternate for the Denver Western Round-Up Trip; Logan Chance- Agricultre and Swine, and County Sheep Award, Reiley Luckie-awarded the Denver Western Round-Up Trip.

Watonga Club: Keela Cowan-Arts & Crafts, Beef and the County Clewell Family Hardware Award; Kinze Cowan-Agriculture & Photography, the County Field Crop Award and the County Health and Wellness Award; Caton Cope- Lamp of Knowledge, and Environmental Stewardship; Brayden Cowan- Agriculture and Plant Science and the County Beef Award; Brant Cowan- Beef, Goats and the County Beef Award.
