WATONGA – Blaine County celebrated a successful fair this past weekend at the fairgrounds in Watonga.
In the 4-H and FFA Arena, the livestock show featured cattle, swine, sheep and goats raised by local students. Across the street in the Foley Building, exhibitors showed off a wide variety of farm products, arts, crafts, flowers, photographs, and more.
Watonga students had a great day at the livestock events, winning all nine grand champion prizes and eight reserve grand champions, as well. According to Watonga FFA, those winners included:

• Intermediate showman: Dakota Cox

• Grand wether goat: Aidyn Garcia
• Reserve grand wether: Kelsi Scheihing
• Jr. showmanship: Brant Cowan
• Intermediate: Reese Coleman
• Grand ewe lamb: Reese Coleman
• Reserve grand wether lamb: Kelsi Scheihing

Kelsi Scheihing won the Bob Barney Memorial Award for the fifth straight year. Though Kelsi walked away with more banners overall, her little sister Mae got one up on Kelsi in the doe goat category, winning grand champion over Kelsi’s reserve champion. It was Mae’s first year showing, her family said.
