GEARY – Looking for a way to help those who need a hand this holiday season? There are countless businesses and nonprofits right here in Blaine County that are collecting toys or donations to spread the Christmas cheer.
Down in Geary, Primos Café will host a “Family Tradition Dinner” on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The dinner will include a free meal for all, and donated toys will be available for all children who attend.
For those who want to support Primos and its new tradition, you can donate toys at the restaurant and it has also opened an account at the former Cornerstone Bank (now Bank7) under “Family Tradition.”
The dinner will be held down the street from Primos at 106 E Main St., the Geary community building next to the Canadian Rivers Historical Museum.
More information is available at 405-884-5515.
Up here in Watonga, Cathey’s Café is looking for donations of children’s clothes, toys, books and other items for its “A Little Love” campaign. The donations should be left unwrapped, suitable for children ages 12 and younger, and dropped by 303 S Noble Ave. by Dec. 21.
The giveaway will be on Dec. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the same address. It is open to all children ages 12 and under; questions can be directed to 580-791-1290.
Also in Watonga at the Blaine County Fairgrounds, the 30th annual Free Community Christmas Dinner will be held on Dec. 25 starting at 11:30 a.m. The dinner will be drive-thru only this year and is sponsored by many local businesses and individuals.
Locals who want to help feed others on Christmas can donate financially to the Community Christmas Dinner Account at Bank7. More information is available at 580-623-1160 or 580-623- 8579.
The dinner is also looking for volunteers to help serve.
