The Caddo County Retired Educators held their monthly meeting January 10th, at the Caddo Kiowa CTC. There were 14 members present along with 3 visitors. The January devotion was presented by Karen Mason. Marilyn Graham reported on the minutes from the last meeting and Allen Klein gave a treasury report.
OREA Executive Director, Sabra Tucker and OREA SW District Director, Linda Long were present at the meeting to give a report for the upcoming legislative session and house bills and senate bills that retired educators should keep an eye out on. The Legislature does not convene until February 7th. Brian Harrison, pharmacist at Liberty Drug in Carnegie, gave an interesting and informative program about our local home town pharmacies and some of the struggles they have encountered.
Following the Presentation, the group enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by the CKTC food service department. The next meeting will be held February 14th, weather permitting. All retired educators in the area are encouraged to become involved in this active group. Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of each month.
