WATONGA – A new, paved walking trail at Roman Nose State Park will help people with physical disabilities and mobility issues enjoy the great outdoors.
The 1.2-mile trail is designed to meet the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act, or ADA. With one end at the historic Roman Nose Lodge and another at the big spring, users will enjoy shady forest paths that wind and incline gently.
The Talking Trees day use area also offers easy access to the trail from around its mid point, for those looking for a shorter stroll.
Roman Nose park manager Levi Garrett told the Watonga Republican the ADA trail has been in the works for years and was made possible by a grant from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
