SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Hi, everybody! I hope you’ve all had a good week. Wasn’t the rain wonderful on Saturday night? Now the forecast is for a frost or freeze for Wednesday night. That will about take care of the flowers and gardens, but you can bring in the pumpkins and chrysanthemums in your fall decorations. I guess it’s about that time of year though.

We had some nice donations last week. Tasha Sinclair donated some fresh vegetables, the Plant Place donated cheese and Margie Smith brought in cans. Thanks so much to all of you for thinking of you with these things. We appreciate all of it.

Basil and Danna Taylor made a donation to the center in memory of Jean Grove and Dale Green. We are very thankful for this donation.

Freda Hausner and Donna White both renewed their memberships to our group. We’re so happy to have the two of them as part of the group.

We’ll be meeting at 6 p.m. on Saturday for music and games. Bring a covered dish and join us for the fun. We do have a good time.

Last week’s meal deliveries were made by Pat Brewer, Sharon Barnes, Brenda and Curet Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. A big thanks to all of you for helping with this program.

News is short from the center this week. Not a lot is going on. There is exercise at 9 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Come on in and give it a try. It’s not hard but it is good for you. And remember there’s biscuits and gravy at 8 a.m. on Thursdays followed by quilting with the ladies. It’s a fun time.

I’m told they need a new quilt to put in the frame to be quilted. If you have one ready to be quilted, contact the center at 623-4511.

This is our menu for the next few days. Call us at 6234511 for meals to be delivered or to order a meal for pickup. Please call before 10 a.m. for delivery. Thursday 10/20 Steak fingers Friday Fried chicken Monday Vegetable soup and chili Tuesday Chicken strips Wednesday Kiwanis at noon, we eat at 11 a.m.

Thursday 10/27 Liver and onions Friday Roast beef Things are going pretty well for me. I got my oxygen equipment last week and I’m getting used to using it all. It is definitely a new experience. But it is making me feel better, so I’ll adapt.

That’s all the news for this week. I hope you all are well. Take care and have a good week ahead. ‘Til next week…
