SENIOR CENTER NEWS

By Sharon Gates

Hi, everybody! I’m watching the weather warnings on Sunday night. It looks like Watonga escaped any serious weather. I’m so glad. I don’t think we got much rain, though. I hear it raining so maybe we’ll end up with a good amount.

We were closed on Monday, Feb. 20, for President’s Day, so no meals were delivered. The rest of the week meals were delivered by Curt and Brenda Stein (two days) Sharon Barnes and Vernon Brickman.

Tim Espy donated to the center. We sure do thank you, Tim. Margie Smith brought in cans and Best Choice labels. Thank you so much, Margie. It all helps.

We had three people renew their memberships last week: Johnny Wooton, Mary Mangold and Sandy Brown. A big thank you to all of you for sticking with us.

Last Saturday night there were 22 people that showed up for games and music. They all had a great time I hear. I was out of town with my daughter. We went to a Diamond Rio concert at Sugar Creek Casino in Hinton. It was really good and I saw some other Watonga people there.

Now it sounds like it is pouring rain. Maybe we’ll get a good bit after all.

Well, my doctor tells me I have a choice to make. I can either go to physical therapy or go to exercise class. I chose exercise class, so I’ll be starting tomorrow. I really need it. I’ve gotten really weak since my pacemaker surgery and going on oxygen full time. I’m not a morning person so we’ll see how it goes.

This is our menu for the next few days. Call us for a meal to be delivered or picked up. Call before 10 a.m. for deliveries.

Thursday -3-2 Ham and beans Friday – Indian tacos Monday – Taco salad Tuesday – Chicken strips Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon so we eat at 11 a.m.

Thursday – 3-9—Baked chicken Friday – Ham and sweet potatoes And we always have biscuits and gravy at 8 a.m. Thursdays. It’s a donationonly thing.

Quilters have a new quilt to work on so they’ll be meeting on Thursday mornings. Come and join them.

We’ll I’m going to close now. The rain has stopped so I may just go on to bed. I hope all of you have a great week.

Take care of yourselves. ‘Til next week …
