SENIOR CENTER NEWS

EWS

Hi everyone! I hope you’ve all had a good week. I made it to exercise class on Monday and Wednesday but missed Friday because John had a doctor’s appointment. I could sure tell by Wednesday that I had exercised on Monday. But I know it will get easier as I go. I have been amazed at the large number of people who attend. It’s great!

The First Baptist Church donated a bunch of Best Choice labels. We sure appreciate that.

Larry and Naida Kerr donated to the center in memory of Gary Wills and Glenda Wilkinson. Thank you, Larry and Naida, for this nice gift.

We didn’t have a lot of news from last week but here are some things coming up at the Center. Note the dates so you can plan ahead if any of them appeal to you.

Next Saturday, March 11, we’ll be meeting at 6 p.m. for music and games. We have a good time so plan on coming down. Grab some kind of snack to share with everyone. And I almost forgot. That same day, March 11, the Masons will be serving breakfast at the center, starting at 7 a.m. and ending at 10 a.m. I’m not sure what the price is but it is a full breakfast with plenty of folks to visit with.

On Friday March 17, a representative from the Area Council on Aging will be at the center at 9:45 a.m. to speak to the group. It could be interesting so plan to come in that day. It will be open to the public so everyone is invited.

Also on the 17th the ladies from the hospital will be in around 10:30 a.m. to check blood pressure and blood sugars. Plan on coming in for both events. You’ll be glad you did.

On March 18 the Cheyenne Quilt Guild will be meeting from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. to work on sewing projects. Bring your sewing machine and a project you’re working on and come on in. Most work on quilt projects.

Monday, March 20 at 7 p.m. the Cheyenne Quilt Guild will hold its regular monthly meeting. They would be glad to have you attend.

Here is our menu for the next few days. Mark your calendar for days you might want to join us. Call the center before 10 a.m. if you need a meal delivered. If you want to pick up a meal to go, call us before noon and we’ll have it ready for you whenever you want it.

Thursday – March 4 – Baked Chicken Friday - Ham and sweet potatoes Monday – Chili and vegetable soup Tuesday – Chili dogs and chips Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 a.m.

Thursday – March 16 – Liver and onions Friday – Fried chicken And remember we serve biscuits and gravy at 8 a.m. every Thursday. It’s available to anyone for a donation.

Well, I think that’s about all for this week. Sounds like it might get a little nasty later this week. Stay warm and take care. ‘Til next week …
