OHCE Awards Presented at Noble House

Members of the Blaine County Association of Oklahoma Home and Community Education (OHCE) met for their annual spring association meeting on March 7 at the Noble House in Watonga where their annual awards were presented.

New member pins went to Dorothy Jameson and Velma Gould of Domestic Engineers and Carolyn Cowan, Sandy Roach, and Lisa Seitter of Pleasant Valley.

Perfect Attendance recognition was given to Janice Hood, Frances Ice, Clella Lookabaugh, Lisa Nelson, Barbara Sinclair, and Maxine Strack of Pleasant Valley.

Years of service awards were presented to the following: 10 years- Frances Ice of Pleasant Valley, 25 years-Valarie Iiams of Domestic Engineers, and 35 years-Maxine Strack of Pleasant Valley.

Some of the projects that the organization sponsors and/or members are working on that were discussed during the meeting included the Oklahoma Author Visit at the Watonga Library on May 9, Tooth Fairy Pillows for Kindergartners, 5th Grade Wellness Day on March 30, a Quilt Block Challenge, the annual Cheese Food Contest, and an OHCE Week Luncheon.

OHCE is part of the Family and Consumer Sciences program with the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service. The purpose of the organization is adult education and community service. In Blaine County, Dana Baldwin, Extension Educator-FCS-4-H and County Extension Director is the advisor to this organization.
