Editor’s note: the following is a national press release highlighting the company who is slated to build its first U.S. home in Watonga.
Zona Verde, Inc. announced today that Watonga, Oklahoma is the first location of their revolutionary, green and affordable homes.
Zona Verde, Inc. is proud to partner with the city as its first location in the United States and Oklahoma to provide Zona Verde homes to the community.
CEO Randy Edgerton stated “We are very excited about working with such an innovative and industrious city, as their team is exceptional. We look forward to a very long- lasting relationship.”
City manager Karrie Beth Little said the City of Watonga is excited to work with Zona Verde and has decided to build a Zona Verde home. She stated, “We were impressed with the economic affordability of the houses and how they are built to last for generations. We look forward to a long partnership with Zona Verde.”
The company, whose name translates to ‘green area’ prides itself on low cost, high quality efficient homes and their planned partnerships with inner city communities, Native American tribes and other historically underserved groups who have been shut out of affordable housing.
Additionally, the homes, are quicker to build by 20% over traditional site built homes and once complete are move in ready, down to the flooring and appliances. The construction method makes the homes, built to withstand high winds and reduce power consumption a new solution for the skyrocketing costs of traditional homes.
