Hi, everybody! I hope you had a nice weekend. Did you get downtown to see all the bikes? They were all lined up on Main Street. There were some really beautiful bikes in town for the festivities and some really loud ones, too! We did very well at the center selling cinnamon rolls, pies, cookies and coffee.
I think a lot of the people who came in just wanted to sit down for a spell, but we were glad to serve them what they wanted. It was good to see such a large crowd.
I’m writing this on Monday instead of Sunday night. I’ve been to exercise class this morning and it was great. We had 26 people, the most we’ve had in a long time, and some of our regulars were missing. We have plenty of room for more so we’d be glad to have you join us.
We had four ladies in on Thursday to quilt, Louise Cooper, Judy Curtin, Estalene Teply and Gene Matli. I know there are more ladies in our community that quilt. We need you to come in and help with the quilt they are working on. They meet on Thursday mornings until about noon.
Pat Brewer, Sharon Barnes, Brenda and Curt Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman all delivered meals for us last week. We are so thankful for the time they give to help us get meals delivered. We appreciate them and I know the folks receiving the meals appreciate it, too. Thanks to all of you.
Margie Smith donated cans last week. Thank you, Margie.
Chub and Janet Edsall, Bob and Karen Barker and John and Becky Cope each made donations in memory of Wayne Maddux. Richard and Sandra Hightower donated in memory of Curt Gose and Wayne Maddux. We really appreciate all of your donations.
No music and games this Saturday. We’ll be meeting next week, at 6 p.m. on May 13.
Don’t forget the Ferguson tea on Saturday. If you don’t have a ticket yet, some may be available at the door. It will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.
Here is our menu for the next few days. Call us before 10 a.m. if you want a meal delivered and before noon for one to go.
Thursday, May 4 – Sausage and sauerkraut Friday – Indian tacos Monday – Taco salad Tuesday – Beef pot pie Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 a.m.
Thursday, May 11 – Baked chicken Friday – Ham and sweet potatoes And we have biscuits and gravy beginning at 8 a.m. each Thursday.
I guess that’s about all my news for this week. I hope you all have a great week. Take care of yourselves and be safe. ‘Til next week …
