Hi, everybody! Well, its been another week since I wrote to you. I hope it was a good week for you. It sounds like this week will have more rain for us. I hope so. Things are looking greener but I know we still need more rain.
We had a good group show up Monday for exercise. Regina Glass was our leader. She does a good job. We don’t do anything hard, it just gives us a little workout to help us get in shape. If you would like to join us we meet at 9 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for about an hour. Please feel free to join us, we always have room for more.
Friday we had nine people show up to get their blood pressure and sugar tested. We really appreciate the hospital sending nurses to do this for us.
The defensive driving class is set for 9 a.m. June 13. Bring your drivers license and $5 for the booklet for the class.
We’ll be having our annual chicken noodle dinner at 5 p.m. Friday, June 2. There will be a cake auction at 6 p.m. This is one of our main fundraising events for the year. The Masons will be helping us with it. We are so thankful for all the help they give us. They are a big supporter of the senior citizens.
I want to add another big thank you to Lawayne Flaming for his work on our sign and our windows. He redid our sign out front and it looks so pretty. He also put up new, larger letters and numbers on our front window to show who we are and our address. Great job, Lawayne and thank you so much, it really looks great.
Monday, May 29 we will be closed in honor of Memorial Day. The American Legion will be having a service at 10 a.m. at the IOOF cemetery. It is always a nice service so you might want to plan to attend.
At 6 p.m. Saturday, we will meet for music, food and games. Please come and join the fun. You’ll be glad you did. Bring a snack to share with the crowd.
Thursday our quilters met to work on the quilt. It must be a hard one, they don’t seem to be making much progress on it. Maybe they’re waiting on you to come help. They meet around 9 a.m. on Thursdays and work until about noon. The quilters this week were Gene Matli, Judy Curtin, Louise Cooper and Estalene Teply.
Our regular carriers delivered our meals last week. A big thanks to all of them for giving of their time to do this for us.
We received a donation from Carolin Middleton in memory of Mike Darnell. Thank you, Carolin.
Delores Trumbley renewed her membership to the senior citizens center. Thank you Delores.
Here is our menu for the next few days. Call us before 10 a.m. if you need a meal delivered or before noon if you want some to go.
