A 72-year-old Geary man died Wednesday after a single car roll over accident east of town.
According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Murray Medicinebird was westbound on U.S. 270 when his 2017 Cadillac left the roadway, travelled more than 550 feet before striking a culvert and rolling a half time. It came to rest on its roof some seven feet down a ditch embankment.
Medicinebird was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Calumet Fire Department. His condition was listed as normal and he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
In addition to the OHP and Calumet Fire, the Canadian County Fire Department also responded to the 9:30 a.m. accident.
