Liberty Theatre Presents Vegas on The Prairie with Wade Tower

The usual routine of working in the yard or watching TV on the sofa is about to be disrupted. They have been blown away like a prairie tornado by the big band sounds of Wade Tower and his marvelous musicians. At 7 p.m. on Tuesday September 26 you are going to have an opportunity to not only support the Watonga Community Theatre, but also see a show that most would have to travel to a different state to experience.

On that night, Wade and his players with the multiple octaves and complicated rhythms will transform the Watonga theatre and transport the audience across the plains to a séance with Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. It is guaranteed to be exciting and refreshing to experience music that does not repeat ad nauseum a single beat and three banging chords, although Wade will manage to pay homage to his Oklahoma roots with a little country music. He will also have the audience singing along and gyrating to Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.” Wade and his Blues Brothers-dressed band members will fill the historic theater with the kind of music and talent the old venue has not seen in decades. In fact, Floyd Haynes, Wade’s bandleader, will remind the audience of many long-gone jazz greats with his quality saxophone playing.

Each of Wade’s ensemble is terrific. Wade’s vocals are powerful, sensitive and truly enjoyable. Floyd Haynes on the tenor sax, Chase Gulliver on drums, Scott McQuade at the keyboard, Rod Clark playing bass and the justly featured Jerry Connel on lead guitar are all solo bilities and multiple key signatures along with intricate tempos. Come enjoy Wade and his band for showing and applying the full range of them.

There is no doubt you and your friends should be eagerly looking forward to enjoying Las Vegas on the prairie later this month.

The Liberty Theatre is at 115 E. Main, Watonga, Okla. Admission is free with paid membership or $15 at the door.
