Blaine County Retired Teachers met Oct 9 at the Noble House for the monthly group meeting. Rep. Mike Dobrinski of Okeene was the speaker. He gave a very informative presentation concerning not only what is happening in education, but also comments on what may happen.
He shared handouts showing what is being appropriated for education and the areas in which it is being appropriated. It was a very informative handout giving specific amounts and where it is being spent. He also shared a handout of a letter State Superintendent Ryan Walers had sent to the legislature explaining that his department had received $10 million in grants.
Dobrinski was adamant about the importance of contacting legislators in both houses with questions and comments. He said it was very important for them to know what their constituents wanted and needed.
After his presentation the group was served a delicious meal prepared by the Noble House staff and a business meeting followed. There will be no November meeting and the December 11 meeting will be the annual auction/fundraiser.
If you are a retired education employee you are welcome to become a member. Please consider joining this group and being a part of the organization.
