The infamous ‘Y’ intersection some 9 miles north of Watonga was the scene Wednesday of an injury accident.
According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Toni Nethercutt, 60, of Alva, was headed north on OK Highway 58 when she failed to yield at the stop sign at the intersection of that roadway and OK 270.
Her 2016 Kia struck a 2019 Ram 2500 pickup driven by Logan Dennis of Oklahoma City.
Nethercutt and her passenger Kristin Knierim, 43, of Waynoka were transported by Watonga EMS to Watonga Mercy Hospital. Nethercutt was taken by ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where she was admitted in stable condition.
Knierim was taken by air ambulance from Mercy Watonga to OU Medical in Oklahoma City, where she was treated and released.
Dennis, the driver of the pickup, was not injured.
OHP was assisted by the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, Blaine County EMS, Watonga Fire Department and Air-Evac.
