According to a press release from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 5-year-old boy was injured in a boating accident that also involved a Hydro resident.
A cabin cruiser pulled up to a fueling station on Lake Texoma east of Madill. The operator, Brandon Cox, 52, of Oklahoma City finished fueling and drifted the boat away from the dock. When he attempted to start the boat, the gas fumes ignited, causing an explosion and fire.
Teresa Smith, 51, of Hydro, was not injured, but the child from Oklahoma City was transported by air ambulance to Parkland Burn Center in Dallas, where he was admitted in in stable condition.
