In spite of temperatures that soared well past the 100 degree mark, students from Blaine County that participate in FFA and 4-H worked long hours preparing and showing their livestock and other exhibits at the annual fair.
The youth showmen had swine, cattle, sheep and goats as well as some taking part in the tractor driving contest or showing their creations in arts, hobbies, gardening, farming, sewing, baking and food preservation.
As usual, there was a cake and pie auction and a concession stand run by the Watonga Lions Club.
Now that this year’s fair is in the books, the showmen will focus on either the Oklahoma State Fair in Oklahoma City or in Tulsa, then get ready to start the process all over again with February’s stock show.
