SENIOR CENTER NEWS

By Brenda Stein

By the time you are reading this, Thanksgiving may be in the past. There are plenty of stories to tell about this holiday and I am sure we all have one. As a new bride, I hosted my husband’s family for Thanksgiving. I made the turkey and found the giblets in the regular cavity, just like it in a chicken. My mother-in-law was helping me take it out of the pan to serve and she discovered the neck in the turkey’s neck cavity in a plastic bag. I had no idea it was there. My sweet MIL never said a word!

Hope your meal went well, and even if something happened, let’s hope you laughed about it and enjoyed your family being together. That is the most important part of the holiday!

Anyone is welcome. The Christmas Bazaar will be held Saturday, December 7, at the Foley Building at the Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be lots of homemade products, Christmas décor and music, hourly drawings, plenty to eat and a real live Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause there for pictures. The HCE Clubs sponsor this event, and it is not to be missed.

Our City of Watonga crews have begun hanging Christmas lights downtown. The weather is supposed to be cooler and it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Be safe and enjoy the season.
