SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Welcome to our winter! The weathermen predicted arctic conditions, and they were right! It has not been this cold since last winter, and I hope all of you are able to stay warm and cozy: Speaking of warm, our upcoming menus will keep you that way: Thursday, Jan. 9 Turkey Pot Pie Friday -- Chicken Salad Sandwiches Monday-- Chili and Soup Tuesday-Breaded Chicken Breast Wednesday -- Kiwanis Meets (Breaded Pork Loin) Thursday, Jan. 16Liver and Onions Friday-- Fried Chicken We eat from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day, except Wednesday, when we eat from 11 a.m. to noon. Call any day before 10 a.m. to get home delivery. Our meals are still $7 for a meat dish, mashed potatoes and gravy, a vegetable, a salad, a roll, dessert and a drink. Plus, you have no dishes to clean up!

On Thursday mornings we have biscuits and gravy from 8 --10 a.m. The cost is by donation. What a way to start your day, with a warm biscuit smothered in gravy! Yum!

Our deliveries were made this week by Hailey Boden, Sharon Barnes, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman.

Quilters this week were: Louise Cooper, Margarett Parman and Estalene Teply.

We received a donation this week in memory of Mrs. Goodbear. Membership renewals were made by Maxine Strack, Janice Hood and Stan and Terri Crawford.

On Saturday, December 28, we had more than 25 at the center for music, food and games. David Greene provided live music. John Gates had a birthday, and he was honored with a cake and candles. Everyone had a wonderful time. Our next Saturday night event will be January 11.

On Monday, January 20, the Cheyenne Quilt Guild will meet at the Senior Center from 4-6 p.m. for sewing. Anyone interested in learning to quilt, having a problem with a project, or wanting to join in is invited to bring your sewing machine and project.
