SENIOR CENTER NEWS

By Brenda Stein

We had a fairly quiet week at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center this week. Easter decorations now adorn our center, and we have a beautiful quilt hanging on the wall. It was made by Mae Thompson and has a lot of different, intricate blocks. Come by and see it.

Our menu for the following week is: Thursday, March 27 Ham and Beans Friday Roast Beef (birthday dinner) Monday Chili or Vegetable Soup Tuesday Chicken Strips Wednesday Kiwanis Meet (Chicken Fried Steak) Thursday, April 3 Baked Chicken Friday Goulash On Friday, April 4, the Watonga Masonic Lodge will host a chicken and noodle fund-raiser for the Senior Center beginning at 5 p.m. The meal will be chicken and noodles, salad, vegetables and homemade desserts. There will be a cake auction at 6 p.m. Some of our area’s finest bakers will be donating delicious cakes and pies to the auction. You won’t want to miss this event!

Prior to the fund-raiser, on Tuesday, April 1, will be a citywide election for Watonga City Council seats. Please exercise your right and VOTE!

Early voting is Thursday and Friday, March 27- 28 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the First Christian Church.

On Tuesday, April 1, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. See you at the polls!

Last week our deliveries were made by Sharon Barnes on three days, Brenda Stein and Vernon Brickman. Our lone quilter was Martha White.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle! Come experience kindness at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center!
