Oakwood Grads Gather for Banquet

The 71' Annual Oakwood Former Student banquet was held Sat., April 26, 2025 with 58 in attendance. Those attending from Oakwood were; Mike and Jolene Martens, Judy Bivings, Naomi Baker Anson, Roice and Pam Cozort, Donald Rogers, Harold Black, John Brandly, Sue Hajny, Joyce Holsapple, Jim and Pam Boden, Randy, Ron and Don Beckloff, Emily Stinson, Orin and Pam Chain, and Ruth Rutz Rhodes.

Also in attendance were; Kathy Squires Taylor, Weatherford; Ivanna Livingston, Clinton; Allen and Janice Stinson, Fay; Daniel Fauchier, Norman; Jim Johnson, Enid; Kenneth and Cora Lung, Missouri; Dorothy Roberts Royalty, Fay; Gary and Emalee Brandly Johnson, Stillwater; Gayle and Peggy Hajny Canton; Everett and Lydia Roper, Roper Anderson, Choctaw; Lou Ann Roper Peterman, Yukon; Carla Robison; and Velta Cline Quintle, Omega.

The largest class was 1963 with six in attendance. The oldest was Ida Rutz Reidd at 92. The one traveling the farthest was Kenneth Lung from Missouri. Dorothy Roberts Royalty gave a wonderful talk about Nobscot, where the railroad folks lived and worked on the railroad. Our theme was about the early railroad days and the impact that it had on our community. Judy Bivings and Jolene Martens did a wonderful job of decorating and making this banquet such a success. It was really enjoyed by everyone. Thanks to everyone who helped with our banquet and to Arnie and Donna Lee at Red's Grocery for a delicious meal.
