SWOSU Nursing Hosts Orientation for Class of 2027 The Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) Department of Nursing recently hosted its in-person orientation for the nursing class of 2027. The event welcomed students who have been accepted into the program, along with individuals currently on the waitlist. These students will begin their nursing coursework in the fall. The orientation offers information and resources to help them understand program expectations, meet faculty and peers, and begin organizing materials required for their clinical and academic responsibilities.
Throughout the orientation, students rotated through six informational stations led by nursing faculty. Stations addressed a range of important topics, including clinical compliance, uniform standards, required supplies, education expectations, additional paperwork, and a photo booth to take pictures of the occasion. Faculty members at each station provided printed materials and gave detailed explanations of requirements, deadlines, and procedures that students will encounter once the semester begins. The sessions were designed to give students a clear picture of what lies ahead while also helping them begin the semester with confidence.
Students who attended the orientation include Kristy Stroud of Cordell, Cole Leisher and Kaden Pettus of Fairview, Laura Ullery of Hennessey and Tristian Fite of Thomas.
