EWS
We are approaching the fourth week of July, already. Where has the summer gone? July is known as the vacation month, hosting the 4th of July, National Ice Cream Month, National Hot Dog Month, and Shark Week. The temperatures have risen and the chances of rain dropped. No one wants to heat up the kitchen to cook, so come eat with us at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center. We eat Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; except Wednesday, we eat from 11 a.m. to noon. Our meals cost $7, and consist of a meat dish, potatoes and gravy, vegetables, salad, homemade roll, dessert and drink! Plus, you don’t have to wash dishes!
Our menu is as follows: Thursday, July 24 Chicken Alfredo Friday R o a s t Beef (Birthday Dinner) Monday Chicken Strips Tuesday Chicken Salad Sandwiches Wednesday Breaded Chicken Breast Thursday, July 31 Goulash Friday Indian Tacos Call any morning before 10 for home delivery or come in and eat with us. Our delivery persons last week were: Sharon Barnes (two days), Curt and Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. We are very grateful for their loyalty and service.
Memberships were renewed this week by Mike Russell and Joe and Teresa Bryan. Our memberships only cost $15 per year, and one advantage of this is that you get a FREE meal in the month of your birth. Paid members born in July get their free meal on Friday, July 25.
We received donations of homegrown vegetables-- squash, cucumbers, zucchini and tomatoes as well as peaches from Janice Hood. They tasted so good! Thanks, Janice.
Our quilters this week were Louise Cooper and Martha White. They are doing a beautiful job on the quilt in the frame. It belongs to Janice Hood. Stop by and see it anytime.
We will host Fun and Games Saturday, July 26, from 6-9 p.m. Bring a snack to share and enjoy card games, dominos, pool and live music.
Our exercise program is going strong. Join us any Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning at 9. We exercise all parts of our bodies, and you may hear us sing a song or two! We would love to see you at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center!
