Sam Noble Museum’s ‘Spooktacular’

NORMAN – Bring your favorite costume, meet a giant spider and unleash your curiosity at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History’s annual Curiousiday : Spooktacular! Hosted on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., this Halloween event blends family-friendly thrills with hands-on science, offering kids and adults alike a chance to explore the spooky side of nature.

Curiousiday : Spooktacular features a full day of interactive activities, giveaways, creepy crafts, collection chats with museum scientists, plenty of sweet treats from visiting food trucks plus free general admission for the first 25 guests! Visitors can encounter— and even touch—real museum specimens while learning about the spookiest objects and animals nature has to offer. From the nocturnal to the poisonous to the downright bizarre, join us in celebrating everything that thrives in the shadows!

“This event is all about making science fun and memorable for our visitors,” said Laura Vaughn, head of education at the Sam Noble Museum. “We love to see that moment when kids realize science and nature can be just as exciting and spooky as their Halloween costume.”

Curiousidays are held on the second Saturday of each month, with each new event presenting a unique theme designed to spark curiosity and connect visitors with history. Spooktacular is one of the museum’s most popular Curiousiday events.All activities are included with the cost of general museum admission.

The Sam Noble Museum is the officially designated natural history museum for the state of Oklahoma and is located on the University of Oklahoma Norman campus at 2401 Chautauqua Ave.
