McCall Seeking Governor’s Mansion

OKLAHOMA CITY – Charles McCall has taken the lead in the Republican primary for Governor of Oklahoma, according to new polling. Once considered the underdog, McCall now holds a commanding position over Attorney General Gentner Drummond and has emerged as the clear conservative choice for Republican voters.

“This is more than just numbers, it’s proof that Oklahoma conservatives want proven leadership,” said campaign spokesperson Ashley Peterson. “Charles McCall has stood firm for our values every step of the way, and Republican voters are responding.”

The poll, conducted October 15–17 among 806 likely Republican primary voters, shows McCall leading Drummond by 8 points in a head-to-head matchup (45% to 37%). In a projected runoff, McCall extends his lead to 13 points (49% to 36%). On a five-way ballot, McCall tops the field with 32% of the vote. The poll has a margin of error of ±3.5%.

Much of the shift is driven by McCall’s growing support among conservatives. According to the survey, 75% of GOP voters now rate McCall as conservative, a 13point increase since September, while Drummond has dropped 15 points, with only 38% now viewing him as conservative.

“Oklahomans are looking for a fighter, someone who won’t cave to political pressure or the radical left,” Peterson said. “That’s why Charles McCall is gaining ground. He’s unapologetically conservative and focused on keeping Oklahoma strong.”

McCall’s recent media blitz has played a key role in reshaping the race. Ads highlighting his alignment with President Donald J. Trump and his defense of parental rights have been seen by a majority of voters, with over 60% recalling each spot. Among voters who have seen the ads, McCall leads by double digits.

Meanwhile, Drummond, once the presumed frontrunner, has suffered a sharp decline in public perception. His favorability has fallen to 39%, with an equal share of voters now viewing him unfavorably, an 18point swing in just one month.
