David R. "Choc" Wigington was born on July 13, 1937 in Geary, OK to Thomas Virgil and Gillie (Coburn) Wigington. He passed away on he and Shirley’s 66th wedding anniversary May 25, 2022 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 84. Choc grew up in Geary, OK. He graduated from Greenfield High School and entered into the Army National Guard. It was during his time in Greenfield that he met the love of his life, Shirley Evelyn Randolph. They married May 25, 1956 at the Greenfield Baptist Church, where Shirley's father had pastored for many years. The two began their family in Greenfield and in 1965, moved to Tennessee for a few years. There, Choc worked at White's Dairy Supply and farmed tobacco alongside his brother. Upon their return to Greenfield in 1969, Choc took over his father's farming operation, which he maintained until his passing. He served as a board member for the Federal Land Bank and was a member of the Greenfield Baptist Church, later joining the First Baptist Church in Watonga where he enjoyed Wednesday night's group gatherings. Choc had an excellent knowledge of the Bible and had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a young age. In addition, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching sports, raising sheep, and listening to Bluegrass music in his free time. Choc had many passions, but his greatest passion was his love, Shirley and the life and family they created together.
