It’s been awhile since I have been able to have an article in the paper. I am so happy that the newspaper allows me to have these articles in when they have room. We have been looking at the book of Zechariah. It is next to the last book in the Old Testament. Zechariah contains 8 visions. Chapter 1 has the first two visions.

This recuperating at home is getting expensive. As I said before, I never do anything the easy way.

By the time you read this article, we could have a state budget. House and Senate leaders are still negotiating, but we are very close to a final product. Budget bills, including the main appropriations bill, should begin to be heard in the Joint Committee on Appropriations & Budget the week starting May 16. Once bills go through the committee, they will be heard, questioned, debated and get a final vote on the floor of each legislative chamber before being sent to the governor.

We’re getting closer to the end of this year’s legislative session. As written in Oklahoma’s Constitution, the Legislature must adjourn by 5 p.m. on the last Friday in May. That’s just a couple of weeks away, but we still have some work to do finalizing the Fiscal Year 2023 budget.

We had two men on separate occasions to visit the museum this week. It was their first time to visit it and one said he was going to bring his wife for a tour when he could.

The psalmist writes, “The Lord is fair in everything He does and full of kindness. He is close to all call on Him sincerely (Psalm 145:17-180)” Sometimes people are hesitant to trust the Lord.

Hi everybody! Hasn't the weather been nice lately? And the rain was wonderful! The geese and ducks in the gully have really enjoyed the water. And John's been feeding them.

My first mistake was making an appointment. My second was showing up. I had developed a little, okay quite large, bulge over the last couple of years as a result of having my wound vac from my last surgery removed a little too soon. The official name is "incisional hernia.” I won't point any fingers at this time on whose fault this is I'll just say that it resulted in another trip to the surgery center for what was supposed to be a quick in-and-out procedure. Fool that I am, I fell for it and made all the arrangements, and by that, I mean I gave them an arm and a leg as pre-payment, with a promise of the other side if the insurance didn't pony up their share and prepared for the day.

Hi everybody! I hope you are all well. Wasn't the rain wonderful? There are seven geese out in the gully in front of our house and they are sure enjoying the water that's flowing. It's really cool to watch them.

Saturday late afternoon, the Matrons Rook Club met at the Sr. Center to enjoy our monthly senior rook playing. All of a sudden, someone said "oh my goodness, what is that.” We looked out the double doors and saw that it was actually raining!! Since we haven't been blessed with rain for quite a long while we stood there watching it. It did not last over 15 minutes but it was nice while it lasted.
