AT LEFT and BELOW: The Geary cross country teams traveled Sept. 28 to the Kingfisher meet with more than 20 other schools. Geary had 30 runners up before dawn to go compete as they set numerous personal records and several school records.

The Watonga Lady Eagles placed second September 21 at Pre-State in Edmond.The boys also ran well, with three earning medals. Brayden Cowan placed first, Justin was 27th and Sam 29th and Zac was 38th. There were not enough runners for a team this week so there is no team score.

The Watonga Eagles took on Mangum September 20 for Homecoming.In spite of some inspired moves, like a TD in the first minutes of the game, and D wrapping up Mangum players ( ABOVE) it still wasn’t enough to come away with the W, losing to Mangum 7-34. The Eagles play Fairview next week at Fairview.

The Eagles had a tough second outing September 13 at Thomas-Fay-Custer. The offense could not fight its way to the endzone and the Terriers took full advantage of it, with the final score a lopsided 0-42. The Eagles next play Mangum at 7 p.m. on September 20.

In spite of tenacity and ferocity, a much improved Eagles football team lost a tough game on the road, yielding to the Hobart Bearcats 18-34. The Eagles next take on the Thomas-Fay-Custer Terriers at 7 p.m. September 13 at Thomas.
